(Chapter 16)

You, Mark, and Dark were all led onto the island of Chincoteague, you walked on and on until you saw the ruins of an old ship.

"On your knees." Eirena barked, you all went down on your knees, "So you just took us out here to put us down like wild dogs?" Dark snapped.

His remark ended up with him getting hit in the back of the head with Eirena's pistol, he hissed in pain and growled, "Another smart remark like that and you'll end up with a shot in your head." Eirena snapped.

She shouted something in what sounded like Jamaican, but you weren't one-hundred percent sure, and six guys walk out from the ship ruins.

"You see, we've been waiting for you three for awhile." Eirena stated, "Why?" Mark asked, "Because someone with an inner demon is worth quite a bit." She stated.

You looked back at the men walking towards you, you felt your heart drop, there was a man who was easily seven feet tall, his shoulders looked as if they were made of the broadside of a barn.

His skin was ink black, his amber eyes had a raging firey glow, his hair was spiked up on the top, and he wore an outfit similar to Dark.

His hands had one brass knuckle on each hand, and both had bronze spikes, he smiled when he saw Dark, and his teeth were not even human looking in the slightest, they seemed as if they were more meant for a shark than anything.

You looked over at Dark, who had his head down, he was staring into the grass and sand with sweat running down his face and fear etching into every part of his face, so whoever this monster was, he was definitely more dangerous than Dark by a long shot.

"Well look at what we have here." He smiled, his voice cold but smooth, mocking, yet serious.

"Been awhile." Dark replied, swallowing nervously, "Yeah it has, too bad you couldn't have taken up on my offer sooner." He stated, "You could've gotten far better off." He smirked.

"Sorry, I'd rather make a deal to someone short of the devil Daigon, I'd like to run my own life thank you." Dark replied, the man growled and backhanded him sending Dark face first into the sand.

Dark growled and started getting up, Eirena cocked her pistol and aimed it at your head, you immediately stiffen at the feeling of the barrel of the pistol agaisnt your head.

Dark looked up at you and Eirena, "Make a move against any of us, and her brains splatter against the sand." She snapped.

You sat there stiffer than a wooden board, you shifted your eyes to look at Dark, he had a worried expression on his face, that quickly turned into a stony expression, you guessed that your captors would never notice.

"I see someone has a soft spot for the lady." Daigon stated with a grin that made a cold feeling run up and down your spine.

Dark got back up and put his hands behind his head again, "Not exactly, she's a good woman, hardest working First Mate I've ever laid eyes on." Dark stated.

"Haha, Dark I know you better than you think, you always fall for the pretty faces." Daigon laughed, his laugh sounded awful, it was wheezy and sounded like a smoker gargling nails.

You heard a weird zapping sound, kinda like a bug zapper when a fly gets too close, and then there was the distant howl, so familiar you almost forgot who it belonged to.

There was a snarl right behind you and Eirena, and you heard Eirena get tackled by something, you quickly get up and notice that the thing that attacked Eirena was a werewolf.

Five or six other werewolves spring up from behind the small sand hills, snarling, growling, howling, and roaring, along with several of the vampires in their true form.

Daigon deflected every attack that was thrown at him, Dark grabbed your arm and Mark's, "Retreat!" He shouted, and the next thing you knew you were in a forest that was on a nearby island.

You fell over and started shivering uncontrollably, Dark knelt by you, "Sorry, that tends to happen to everyone." He stated, you sat up a bit and Mark was shivering and pale too, so something that happens in Dark's teleportation does something to people who've never experienced it before.

Dark got up and started picking up tree limbs and sticks while you and Mark remained motionless for awhile, trying to get your senses back in order.

Several hours went by before you could sit up without getting extremely dizzy, Mark had decided to sleep it off, but after all the confusion and stress that happened the day before, uou couldn't quite fall asleep.

Since Dark didn't need as much sleep as human beings he decided to take an all night watch, he sat on the ground staring in the fire, "Why haven't you fallen asleep yet?" He asked, not even taking the slightest glimpse at you.

"I just can't." You replied, "Why not?" He asked, "Because my brain won't shut up." You replied, he laughed, "That's your best excuse?" He asked laughing quietly.

You huffed, "Well, if my brain was a tad quieter I would be asleep by now." You stated, he laughed again, "Whatever you say princess." He quipped.

You sat up, "So? What are you gonna do about it?" You asked, "Well." He started, getting up from his place taking off his coat and wrapping it around your shoulders, "That should help." He stated sitting next to you.

You further wrapped the coat around your shoulders, you looked over at Mark, "What about him?" You asked, "He'll be fine." He stated, "You sure?" You asked "I've been part of him his whole life, I know how he thinks, I know what he can and cannot take, he's fine." Dark stated.

"Alright." You replied and looked at Mark, "How the heck did we get into all of this?" You mumbled to yourself, "Because you two decided to put on the new gaming gear." Dark stated flatly.

"Not like that." You said, "I meant him being in love with me, why I woke up and he didn't." You stated, "Oh." He replied, "Well ask him that when he wakes up." Dark stated getting up and sitting closer to the fire.

You sat there staring at the fire, watching the wood burn and the flames dancing, you sighed, you laid back on the ground and tried to get some sleep.

"I love you (y/n)." You heard Dark say just above a whisper, you opened your eyes and looked at Dark, you sat up, "What?" You asked even though you knew peefectly well what he said, he looked at you, "Nothing." He replied.

"I thought you said my name." You stated, "I was just saying goodnight." He replied, knowing that more than likely you would never get the real truth out of him you laid back down and fell into the gentle arms of sleep.
